Developing a New Generation of Innovations
Fluart’s mission is to improve quality of life and fight infectious diseases globally. Ever-changing, rapidly mutating viruses pose a serious threat to health systems and communities, as illustrated by the three coronavirus epidemics of the past 15 years and the hundreds of thousands of deaths from seasonal influenza each year. Innovative vaccines are of paramount importance to protect not only against current strains but also against future variants, thus preventing similar crises in the future.

The Bacteriophage Project
Bacteriophages are viruses of bacteria, i.e. they can specifically eliminate pathogens, even pathogenic ones, under the right conditions. For this reason, they can be used in many areas that are considered critical. There are around 400,000 hospital-acquired infections caused by antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria in Europe every year. Approximately 40,000 of these are fatal. The vast majority of cases could be prevented with bacteriophage therapy.
Our developments in this area aim to reduce nosocomial infections.

Veterinary
The global animal health market has evolved significantly over the past 10 years, with a strong focus on livestock, dairy and farm animals. By researching, developing and manufacturing veterinary medicines, vaccines and other veterinary pharmaceuticals, we are developing cost-effective solutions to transform animal health and welfare and protect the health of farm animals for human consumption.
Pharmaceuticals and biotechnology
Fluart is an innovative pharmaceutical company with more than 33 years of experience in multidisciplinary expertise and integrated drug discovery and development, specialising in the production, research and development of human vaccines. In addition, the company is able to manufacture small volume biological products and APIs under GMP conditions, as well as pre-clinical and clinical trial samples. The company is able to provide GMP-based contract development and manufacturing for its potential partners, including manufacturing activities, quality control, logistics and full documentation.
Food industry
The growing demand for affordable food in developing markets around the world has led nutrition companies to focus on research partners to meet this growing demand. Fluart has developed state-of-the-art capabilities to support the growing demand for nutrition research, and therefore offers services spanning pre-clinical and clinical areas for general and medical nutrition research endeavors.
